My first Scarlet Letter Sampler

I have to say that I never new I would need a magnifier. I always figured my eyes were good enough for any fabric. That is until I started SL's ABCD 1817 on 30 count unbleached linen with every stitch one strand of floss over one thread. After the first row (where I am still not sure if I crossed every "X") I put this on aside. A week later I finally purchased my magnifier and worked on a valentine exchange to allow my eyes time to adjust. I completed the piece. Then I picked this one back up. I only put it down one night as my eyes decided they were too tired. I have to admit that I enjoyed every stitch. The only problem I had is that I used the wrong color on two letters and didn't have enough for another letter later on. I had to substitute another color. I don't think that the color change on the one letter detracts too much. Now onto the finished picture:

Since this piece is so small I think I am going to make a pillow out of it. Now I just have to decide if I am going to start SL's AW 1662

or An Acrostic Sampler
Any suggestions?
Ta Ta for now,
Angela CG

It's such a lovely piece, well worth the eye strain if you ask me ;) I think you have a tough choice ahead as both of the projects you have lined up are lovely. I think my favourite is 1662, look forward to finding out what you decide to work on

What a lovely finish! I've decided instead of pushing my eyes to just go ahead and use the magnifier. It just lets me stitch that many more hours!

Hi Angela,

I don't think I would be able to see anything single-thread anymore! :) I give you high marks for being able to. Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. Don't be afraid of the Mod Podge--it's fun! Shannon@SMCbyDesign.com

Very nice stitching! I've had the occasion where the wrong color has been stitched and that's just fine by me.

It's lovely! It looks fine with the other color. Didn't even notice. I vote for the acrostic next. The lines of it just appeal to me.

This is fabulous, well done for working with one strand of floss on 30 count, I've never been brave enough. Thank for stopping over at my blog, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your creations again soon
